EXPLOSION PREVENTION AND FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM FOR TRANSFORMERS AND REACORS

A Reliable, proven, proactive system in field, has saved transformer and reactors in different fault conditions which can lead to explosion and/or fire, installed on new and existing transformers at site with minimal outage period, can be tested on energized transformers, unlike the other systems, unique multi signal activation, eliminates possibility of mal-operation, low running cost compared to other systems, fool proof design to avoid ingress of nitrogen due to climatic changes into an energized transformer.

Extinguishes external fire in bushing and/or radiator also, back up provision ensures nitrogen injection for fail safe operation. Suitable for oil filled generator / furnace / rectifier / power transformers and reactors. Approved by most of the Utilities, Railways, Transmission Companies, leading transformer manufacturers, consultants, EPC, Solar farm developers worldwide. State of the art facilities for design and development of EPFES in own R&D center.

EPFES is designed to protect oil filled transformer/reactor from explosion and fire in all types of possible fault scenarios. More than 13000 EPFES are in operation worldwide on transformer as small as 750KVA and as large as 1500 MVA, 765 KV and has saved more than 125 transformer/reactor during different faults. System is ISO 9001:2015, CE ATEX certified and Complies with NFPA.

    •   SCADA compatible system suitable for IEC/DNP/any other protocol available on   request
    •   Transformer Conservator Isolation Valve (TCIV) isolates Conservator oil from draining in burst bushing/  Tank rupture and / or fire, avoiding further aggravation by spreading Conservator oil
    •   In operation in 4 Continents
___

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

On receipt of required activating signals, depressurizing commences within 13 ms by draining of a predetermined quantity of oil. Simultaneously Nitrogen is injected under pressure at a pre- determined flow rate to create a stirring action thereby bringing the temperature of top oil surface below ignition point.

Additionally, in case of external fire, it is extinguished within 30 seconds maximum. Nitrogen gas occupies the space created by oil drain and acts as an insulating layer between the top layer of oil in the transformer tank and oxygen in the atmosphere.

Transformer Conservator Isolation Valve (TCIV) blocks the passage of oil and isolates conservator oil thereby preventing escalation of fire. In case of an unlikely event of failure of power source, the system can be still be operated manually from the cubicle.

ACCESSORIES

TRANSFORMER CONSERVATOR ISOLATION VALVE (TCIV)

TCIV, a non-returnable valve also called as Pre-stressed non return valve (PNRV), is used for isolating the electrical transformer conservator during abnormal flow of oil due to rupture of electrical transformer tank or bursting of electrical transformer bushing or while draining oil from the electrical transformer tank and also not to isolate the electrical transformer conservator during normal flow of oil during filtration or filling or refilling. Supplied more than 15000 worldwide and successfully operated more than 125 transformers \ reactors.
